Privacy Policy

What this page collects, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Who we are

This coming-soon page for CoupleCollector is operated by the person named on our Imprint page (the "controller" under GDPR). That page also has our contact details for anything in this policy.

2. What we collect

This page does exactly one thing: collect an email address for a launch waitlist. That's exactly what it collects:

  • Your email address, when you submit the signup form.
  • Confirmation status: whether you've clicked the confirmation link we email you, so we know your address is real and you actually want to hear from us (double opt-in).
  • Consent record: the timestamp of your signup, so we can show that consent was actually given if ever asked to (GDPR Art. 7(1)).
  • IP address, briefly, to prevent automated abuse of the signup form (rate limiting). Kept for a few minutes at most and never linked to your email address.

We don't use cookies for tracking or analytics on this page. The only one is a single, strictly necessary cookie remembering whether you last viewed the English or German version, so the language switch sticks.

3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis

Sending you the confirmation email and, later, the one-off "we've launched" email is based on your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given when you check the consent box and confirm your email. You can withdraw that consent at any time; see §7. Briefly checking your IP address against recent signups, to stop the form being abused, is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

4. Who we share data with

Resend, our email delivery provider, acting as our data processor under a Data Processing Agreement (GDPR Art. 28). It sends the confirmation and launch emails and stores your email address and subscription status for that purpose. Resend processes data in the United States; this transfer is safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, incorporated into our data processing agreement with them. We don't share your data with anyone else, and don't sell it or use it for advertising.

5. How long we keep data

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe (the link is in every email we send) or until the CoupleCollector app launches and this waitlist is retired, whichever comes first.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR, you can:

  • Ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy (access, Art. 15).
  • Have inaccurate data corrected (rectification, Art. 16).
  • Ask us to delete your data (erasure, Art. 17), or just use the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 7(3)), with no effect on processing that already happened.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority. For us, that's the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA, Bavaria's data protection authority), or any EU authority local to you.

We'll update this page if what we collect or why changes. Check back occasionally.
